Sprint Series
Sprint races are an ideal way to get into orienteering and are a great high-intensity workout. They are designed to be finished in around 15 minutes and are high intensity races full of twists, turns, and split-second decision making. Sprints are usually held in complex urban environmments like the University of Calgary campus or Pearce Estates Park.
Sprint Series races are held on the first Wednesday of every month at locations around Calgary and there is usually a warm-up race and the main race.
Since 2006 these races have been part of the North American Sprint Series — you could be the North American Sprint Champion!
Grand Prix Series
The Grand Prix series is an age and gender handicapped point series run on the third Wednesday of every month through Spring, Summer and Autumn. Races include sprint, middle and long distance. Most Grand Prix races are held within the city but occasionally one will make use of the great forest maps close to the city near Bragg Creek or in K-Country.

The Junior Development Program (JDP) is for juniors aged 6–20. All JDP members receive a free technical shirt and expert coaching associated with the weekly Wednesday events through Calgary's City Parks from late April to September. New JDPers also receive a compass and a binder to keep maps organised.

Beginners Clinics
At short, free, clinic for beginners is provided at every orienteering event. It will provide you with the basic knowledge to get started. Ask at the registration desk and try to turn up earlier rather than later.
Beyond the Basics
If you've been to a few orienteering events and your interest is piqued or you've been to a beginner's clinic and you are ready to learn more then Beyond the Basics was designed for you.
TNT Winter Training
Tuesday Night Training (TNT) is held, ironically, on Wednesday nights during Winter. TNTs are typically quite informal and often unusual types of events. They are an opportunity to keep your technique during the off-season, practise meet organising and course setting, and introduce new and interesting types of races.
